Absolute heaven on earth. Chris and Barb Cox have developed their vision into something so special it’s hard to even describe. The wranglers and ranch hands did an awesome job all week, the horses healthy, broke and sweet. The tack was in great shape. Lorri who runs the ranch is on top of it. Go!

We recently spent time at Triangle C Ranch and, unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations—especially considering the nearly $4,000 per person price tag. While the natural setting is beautiful and the staff (excluding ownership, the chef, and front desk) went above and beyond, there were significant issues that need to be addressed. Dining & Food Quality: Meal service was inconsistent and frustrating. Food for the same party often came out 30+ minutes apart, and lunch waits stretched past an hour on multiple days. The food itself was disappointing—unseasoned, overcooked, and low quality. For the price paid, it was disheartening to be served things like grilled cheese with Kraft singles, frozen French fries, and Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. A poached egg I ordered arrived broken and floating in water. Baked goods were recycled over multiple days despite being stale, and oat milk was served curdled. Accommodations & Amenities: The rooms lacked basic comforts—no dresser, no ceiling fan, and no air conditioning. To be fair, AC wasn’t needed due to cool temperatures, but a ceiling fan would’ve helped circulate air, especially since many window screens were damaged or missing. Also, the “Swim Spa” advertised in-room was completely nonexistent, and there was no kids’ program despite the website saying otherwise. These misleading claims were disappointing. Ownership & Management: The most troubling part of our stay was the attitude and behavior of the owners. They routinely prioritized themselves over their guests—getting their meals first, walking past dirty tables without helping, and even making fun of guests within earshot. On one occasion, they played softball while guests were left to serve cake and clean up. They openly spoke down to staff and often didn’t even know their employees’ names. When we reported a mouse in the lodge, the concern was dismissed. The Staff Who Made a Difference: Despite these issues, the majority of the staff were outstanding. Sophie was absolutely incredible with our kids—kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. John was a fantastic bartender who brought warmth and professionalism every evening. These team members, along with others, did their best to make guests feel welcome and accommodated despite being put in a tough position by leadership. We’d suggest adding a morning barista or coffee service since the bar is only open in the evening—a small touch that could make a big difference. Final Thoughts: Triangle C Ranch has potential, but it’s being undermined by poor leadership, lackluster food, and misleading advertising. The kind and hardworking staff made the experience tolerable, but they shouldn’t be expected to carry the weight of management’s failures. Until significant changes are made—starting with how guests and staff are treated—we would not recommend this destination.

Our family of four (two girls 10 & 13) stayed for 3 nights in August 2024. We had a great experience at the ranch. The Cox are nice people, and everyone treats you like friends/family. The property was beautiful, and the food was great. We own horses in Virginia, and we were impressed by how well they treat and take care of their horses and mules. The only thing we would change is that we would have booked a longer trip. We hope to see you again soon. The Ashleys

Such a beautiful place!! Cabin was very clean and decorated so cute!! The hot water tank went out very first night and was a little bit of a inconvenience, but they provided a spot to shower while we stayed. No parts available to fix the water heater so not their fault. Amazing atmosphere & very relaxing. Chris , Barb and kiddos were so welcoming and so very nice. I loved how the horses were treated. Chris himself inspected tack and horses. Even tho he has wranglers to do the job it just goes to show how much he cares about the welfare of his animals. Amazing place I plan on visiting again!!

(Jesus follower and plant-based reviewer) Words fall utterly short in describing this amazing ranch that is full of amazing, kind, loving, men and women that love God and serve Him and people. Chris and Barb were at a horse show while we were there, as we were just there for a women's retreat, but I hear amazing things about their clinics! July and Petra are also a great team (have an amazing testimony) and have a great team of Wranglers. These people know horses and safety is a top priority. Even the horses are blessed to be there and seem to know it 😉 Miss Kim does a superb job running the office. The ranch is clean and well kept. The trails are breathtaking and you are sure to see plenty of wildlife including a resident moose and her twin's. The food here is amazing!! Miss Nancy went out of her way to make sure there was a plant-based option for me at every meal and it was so good many of the carnivores chose it as well. Needless to say, I highly recommend this unique ranch and pray I get another chance to come visit soon!
