Kara Creek Ranch

Absolutely wonderful! We had a blast! When the horses were let out daily, they passed directly in front of our cabin. We were able to walk into the field with them. It was enchanted. The view of the ridge, the sky and the scenery in its totality was spectacular. The people who were working at the ranch were amazing! The other guests were from around the country and the world. It was so much fun. There's a saloon and a mercantile full of great merchandise; some new and some gently used. The horseback rides provided breathtaking views and incredible serenity. It literally brought me to tears. We're definitely going back!!

Let me sum up my incredible experience: if you come to Kara Creek during a working season, you're in for a memorable, breath-taking, amazing, wonderful, challenging, exciting, thrilling, and happily-exhausting time. I worked hard some days but still had time for privacy, recuperation, and exploration outside of the ranch. The staff are SO FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE -- even to a new rider like myself!!! -- and between the cowboys and the other guests, I came away feeling like I'd learned so much about both horsemanship and cattle husbandry. I made friends, I saw some beautiful landscape I'd never before seen, and all in all in was just a great taste of the real rancher life. I can't recommend Kara Creek enough if you're looking for good people and good times.

Room was very small. Bed was comfortable. I am disabled and the shower was impossible. Somehow I wanted to rate this 5 stars, but the upkeep seemed “tired.” Almost like they had more than they could stay on top of. The walkway to Cabin 6 was difficult for me. I loved that they are dog friendly.

This was a great time. The view, wildlife, comradery, food...words aren't enough. Take the time to experience this hidden Wyoming gem. Ranchhands - so polite and friendly Kitchen Staff - friendly, gracious, great cooks (seconds and thirds please) Horses - trained and good temperament Monty, the owner, took the time to come out and meet each of us (we were a large group; adults, teens, kids. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves.

Easily my favorite trip we've taken. We stayed here and absolutely enjoyed it. We were a little worried since had an 9 year old and a 7 year old who are city kids. However, they enjoyed it so much and till this day he says he plans on moving to Wyoming when he grows up. Everyone was so nice and our daughter got to ring the breakfast bell. Being able to see the stars at night was such an amazing experience. We had a picnic right outside our cabin and tossed a ball around, such a simple time. Being able to get away from the city life and come here was one of the best experiences of my life. We met Monty and he was such a delight. Thank you for giving us the experience we received.
