DDX was an amazing place to stay. Our family from MN and WA met in the middle for a long weekend getaway in the mountains. It did not disappoint. We highly recommend staying here. It is a wedding venue and very beautiful for that- but even for our family vacation, it was perfect. They have cabins that we rented and each family basically had their own space with one cabin having the kitchen facility where we would gather and eat. The river is close and we ventured in it where the road dead ends- the kids and adults loved playing with the rocks and putting our feet in the chilly water. Pretty far from Cody, but the accommodations, views, friendly horses and things to do/see was exactly what we were looking for- thanks Matt and Jenine!
We held our wedding weekend at DDX and had couldn’t have been happier with everything! What an absolutely amazing place to host an event! Jenine and Matt and their family were friendly and welcoming. We had lots of out of town guests staying on the property for our wedding long weekend, as well as planning for the ceremony and reception, so it took quite a bit of organizing but Jenine and Matt helped us every step of the way and all of our guests had the best time. The cabins are so cosy and clean for staying in and also for getting ready on the wedding day, and the main lodge area and saloon were fantastic gathering areas for our guests, both on the wedding day, and for festivities like our bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner, wedding day breakfast etc. throughout the whole long weekend. There are so many options of beautiful locations for a wedding ceremony, both indoors in the pavilion and outdoors. We chose an outdoor riverside ceremony with a mountain backdrop and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. We had our reception in the covered pavilion area, which had tons of room for dancing and eating dinner with big windows, a porch, and open barn doors so guests could still enjoy the stunning views and evening breeze. Our guests also loved the fire pit and sitting around it with family and friends was such fun way to end the night! We had the best wedding weekend and we can’t recommend DDX enough as a wedding venue!!
Visited out of town for a wedding. The views of the mountain and sky during the ceremony never in your life will you see that. The layout is a ranch. Cabins and saloon dot the complex. Be advised the road to DDX ranch is winding and no street lights at night. Cody is 45 mins from the ranch. So either stay at a cabin or leave before dusk. There is no cell service out there. Ryan the bartender was excellent in service and provided knowledge of where to visit in Cody. Matt the owner and his wife were pleasant and accommodating to guests requests and needs. Rustic, country and simple times feel to be in big sky country. 9.1/10
I booked a 4 hour fishing trip 3 months prior with Jenine. We arrived in Cody and fished on a guided trip for 4 hours on the morning run. My wife and I fished while out 3 children explored the river banks and game trails. Our guide, Eli, was great. Very patient with teaching my wife to cast and setting me up on several pools that produced several fish that morning. He is also highly knowledgeable about the local species and how to present the flies. The special part about the Double Diamond is that the river stretch is private and we had 4 hours of undisturbed fishing. I also greatly appreciated the fact that we were encouraged to bring our kids along. Not many outfitters allow the kids to attend. Pricing was also extremely reasonable. Definitely will come back when we are in the are again.
Excellent Horseback Riding and Fishing Tour! We did not spend the night at the Ranch but had booked a riding and fishing tour which were both fantastic. We visited during the Covid-19 time so we were the only guests but they still held both tours for us even though less than 5 people were on each! Very friendly service from the owner and also totally fair prices. It is a little out of Cody but the Landscape around the Ranch is beautiful and enjoying the view from the back of a horse was a once in a lifetime experience. The fishing guide was very professional and did an excellent job at teaching us the basics of fly fishing.
