Crossed Sabres Ranch

In August 2025 we had an amazing stay at Crossed Sabres ranch! Kenny and Laura are so kind and accommodating. Our boys, 10 And 8 were the perfect age to be in heaven at this ranch. We loved the fly fishing and the guides JD and Gibby were so helpful. All of us caught fish! The action was nonstop and the accommodations were clean, cozy and we slept great. Horseback riding led by Maddie was A++ we went on many trail and saw beautiful sights. They always took photos of us up on the trails. This was a life changing experience for our family.

This was a trip of a lifetime for me. I've always wanted to go out west, ride horses in the mountains and see Yellowstone. Crossed Sabres Ranch went above and beyond to make, not only my experience, but every guest at the ranch experience all the activities and beauty this place has and so much more. My first impression was driving up the driveway, Sunday afternoon to the main lodge and everyone from the ranch walking out to greet us. It was like arriving home from a long trip. I can't say enough about the owners, all the wranglers, chefs and housekeeping. Our cabin was exactly as I had imagined, very comfortable. Each day we could choose whatever we wanted to do. The horses are absolutely beautiful and very sure-footed in the rugged mountain terrain. I just loved my horse for the week "Madison". You won't go hungry at the ranch either. Three delicious meals each day with endless cookies, coffee or beverages. A trip to Yellowstone on Tues along with square dancing, skeet shooting, white water rafting, hiking, fishing etc. Beautiful views in every direction and if you're the type person to just lay low and read a book, they have that as well. There is something for everyone at this ranch. I would highly recommend Crossed Sabres Ranch as they made my dreams come true!!!!!

We just got back from the most amazing trip to Crossed Sabres Ranch, and we're already talking about when we can go back. Kenny and Laura, the owners, along with everyone who works there, made us feel like part of the family. So welcoming and kind. The food was incredible (we're still thinking about some of those meals!), and the activities were endless. We did horseback riding, fly-fishing, rafting, hiking, skeet shooting, a rodeo, and a full day tour of Yellowstone. The location itself is something else. It's hard to put into words just how beautiful it is out there. The mountains, the open skies, the peacefulness - it all felt so majestic. Everywhere you turned it was like a postcard. It honestly takes your breath away. Such a special place with even better people. Highly recommend!

If you’ve ever dreamed of heading out west to experience life on a dude ranch, Crossed Sabres Ranch is the place to go! I’ve only had one other vacation in my life where I truly didn’t want to come home—and Crossed Sabres absolutely stole a piece of my heart. I can’t wait for the day I get to return, hopefully when my daughter has a family of her own to bring along. The owners, Kenny and Laura, are true gems. Their impeccable taste shines through in every detail, and they’ve assembled an amazing young staff that makes the ranch feel like home. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned with a wide variety of activities to choose from: horseback riding, fly fishing, archery, hiking, day trips into Yellowstone, whitewater rafting, the Cody Rodeo, or simply relaxing on the lodge’s front porch with a good book. Each day is full of little touches that make the experience memorable. Guests enjoy three delicious meals a day, cocktails and beers in the saloon, and plenty of fun activities for kids. The staff does a wonderful job of joining in on daily adventures, which makes the experience feel warm and connected. One of my favorite parts of every morning was sipping coffee by the fire—it’s such a simple ritual, but one that felt so special. A tip: bring along some nice clothes for dinner! The staff dresses up each evening, which adds a fun and festive feel to the night. Of course, casual attire works just fine too (I leaned that way most nights), but it’s a nice touch when everyone gets “ready.” This ranch is truly special. It’s one of those places you can’t fully understand until you’ve been there yourself. Book the trip—you won’t regret it!

Stayed in August of 24. Any ranch in the Yellowstone region can offer the wonderful surroundings of the region but in my belief what Crossed Sabres does likely better than others is the quality of their staff. Kenny and Laura clearly put a great deal of work into hiring their staff. They all show off the best qualities and the effort they put into the guest experience is amazing. The tone is set by staff leaders Maddie and Nick who are an amazing duo who clearly make sure their level of guest service is executed by their summer staff. The time and effort the staff put into not just the adult experience but making sure the kids enjoy a once in a lifetime experience really stands out. Kenny and Laura and their son Garrett are great hosts really looking to meet the expectations of guests. They clearly have running the ranch down to an exact science, all guests feel like it is a vacation built around their desires. Food quality and variety were excellent, rooms were very clean and comfortable and proximity to Yellowstone can't be discounted.
