Amazing experience camping and riding at Bar UK. My family had the pleasure of spending a few days here and it quickly became our favorite spot. There is so much to do: camping, swimming, rope swing, kayak, bird watching, hiking, nap in a hammock…I found so much peace just relaxing by the river. The river is very calm with plenty of shallow areas and even some sandy beach areas. You can fish or watch the turtles sun themselves. It’s stunning and easy to access from the camp. We were greeted by Michelle who was very welcoming and gracious. Her care and attention to detail is unmatched. We did a 2 hour horseback ride through the forest and we had the time of our lives. It was absolutely magical. None of us wanted it to end. I can’t say enough good things about this spot. It’s a gem and it’s going to be our new summer spot!
The campground is nice right on the river, everything you would want for a campsite.... Although while we were there multiple tree branches came crashing down around are campsite and in our campsite. Crushing my in laws van and damaging their trailer. I feel like the owners tried to take as little responsibility as possible and ghosted my inlaws when they tried to contact them after the incident. Please use caution when staying at this site.!
Tired of camping in the dusty dirt? Then this is the place for you! Camp in the lovely grass with rabbits running around, fish the river right from your camp, use the rope swing and take a dip, wake up and ride horses! This place has got it all. Very clean, friendly, and packed with activities. I absolutely love and recommend it!
Such an amazing and breathtakingly beautiful place !! Guide is amazing and the horses were so well behaved . Worth every penny will be coming back definitely!
Trail Ride Review While our trail ride had some enjoyable moments, several significant issues prevented it from being a positive experience overall. Trail Difficulty and Safety Concerns The trail featured extremely steep inclines that were far too challenging for most riders. Even my child, who has been riding for about a year, became frightened by the terrain. We weren't the only ones who didn’t like it - other riders also complained about the inclines so our group took an alternative route back. This trail seems suited only for experienced trail riders, but this wasn't clearly communicated beforehand. Location and Access Issues Finding the facility was frustrating and confusing. The poor signage led us down unmarked trails and through a pasture. The path there is completely unsuitable for low-profile vehicles - my car bottomed out multiple times during the drive in. Horse Welfare Concerns (Most Important Issue) What troubled me most was the apparent lack of care for the horses' wellbeing. During our 2-hour ride with a 45-minute break in between there, the horses were never offered water. When I asked whether we should remove the tack at the end, staff said to leave it on since another group would be riding soon. When I specifically asked about giving the horses water, the instructor dismissed my concern, and said they had "plenty of water that morning." After carrying riders up those steep inclines, my horse was visibly sweating and clearly needed hydration. This left me feeling very uncomfortable about the horses' treatment. Final Thoughts As someone who loves horses and riding, I cannot recommend this facility due to the welfare concerns and safety issues. I'll definitely be looking for a different stable when I'm back in the area.
