Held a large family reunion in Cabin 15. It was one of the best reunions we’ve had. Every family had their own rooms. The kitchen, eating and sitting areas were perfect. The deck off the back provided some great views and alone time with the sound of the river. The kids loved the pools and even the fishing wasn’t bad. The kitchen supplies and equipment were first class and the fridge and freezer were large enough to accommodate food for three days for 30. The only down side was the septic tank that overflowed one night and left a strong stench.

We loved Bear Lake Lodge. We were in the family reunion cabin and it was awesome. It had room for our whole family and extended family for dinner. We loved that each family could have their own cabin yet we were close to each other to do family activities together. The staff bent over backwards to make this a special time - even for my husband who is in a wheelchair, making fishing possible for him. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The setting is so beautiful. We are definitely planning on a return visit!

We do NOT recommend staying here. We loved the idea but the reality was a disappointment. We had two cabin rentals. 5-2 and 3-1. We also visited the pool and the fish ponds. Below I have listed our review of each of these areas. With regards to cabin 5-2, upon check in there were cobwebs in several areass and mouse droppings were found in one of the bathrooms. We did not feel like it was as clean as it should have been. With regards to cabin 3-1, the TV never worked and even after we requested somebody come look at it the situation was still not resolved. We found signs of bugs in the pull-out bed and based on the dust, it didn't appear to have been cleaned in recent days. We also found the spare toilet paper that was under the sink to be moldy. With regards to the swimming pool, while we were willing to overlook the debris in the bottom of the pool and the missing tiles, we could not overlook the situation that occurred once we were at the pool. There were two families that came in after we had been there a bit. They were allowed admittance with several children all in diapers. None of the children were put in swim diapers and one of them even pooped on the sidewalk prior to getting in the pool. While I realize it is an unattended pool there were employees coming and going that could have spoken up and let them know that children diaper aged were not allowed in the pool (as posted on sign on located on the gate). Further this group of people then proceeded to put the kids in the hot tub, I also contaminating that as well. Needless to say we curtailed our trip to the pool and left immediately. Our biggest disappointment was in the fishing ponds. Unfortunately we paid for two full days before going down and assessing the situation. We were advised that bait was not allowed only lures, we we're not provided the knowledge that they had previously sold food to be fed to the same fish. Once we got to the ponds, we realized that the fish would not come anywhere near a lure because they had been fed food we disappointed. We chose the resort because of the ponds with the anticipation that our son would be able to catch a fish. To say he was disappointed after 2 days of trying and yielding nothing is an understatement. And to say we were very unhappy to pay $60 for this was even more upsetting. We were very disappointed in both the accommodations and the amenities. And we were very upset that not only did we invest in a disappointing weekend but also our immediate family did as well at our suggestion.

We stayed in one of the 7 bedroom cabins for a family reunion. There were 23 of us ranging is ages from 3-70. The cabin was clean, spacious, and had ample seating and room for everyone. The layout was well thought out and allowed each family to have their own room and bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. There were plenty of activities to do that appealed to everyone- swimming, hiking, riding ATVs, fishing, campfire with S’mores, playing board games, and watching movies. This is in a beautiful location along Mirror Lake Highway with endless outdoor recreation opportunities. A nice bonus is that the general store sells bags of pebble ice. The staff was friendly and attentive and were quick to address any concerns. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Bear River Lodge. Our family met there before our backpack into the Uintas. The cabins were extremely nice, clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had a nice river-view balcony with chairs and a propane grill. There was a coffee maker as well as a Keurig. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kids swam, hot-tubbed and fished. The location was perfect. This was our second stay, and we will go back again soon.
