This is a great private wilderness ranch. Beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. It is a member/owner access only.
I have been a guest on the ranch for several years.I find the ranch to be more like a big KOA campground and not so much a wilderness ranch as one might suppose. Personally, I think the emphasis in the way they operate to be all about protecting access for ATV's and snowmobiles and hunting what is left of the big game animals and grouse. One of the board members has been quoted in a board meeting to say derogatory remarks toward the true wilderness alliance attached to the ranch. And this is published as part of one of the Board meetings a few years back. This meeting was held by the board without allowing members of the ranch to attend. They kill beavers to protect aspen trees. And I saw a lot of beer drinking going on while members ride their ATV's. So go ahead and give it a try if that is what you are in to.
I grew up spending time at Sourdough Wilderness Ranch when I was a youth. The day my grandparents sold their lot was a sad day. I am debating purchasing a lot up there as I had such fond memories of summer four wheeler rides and playing SkipBo and fishing off of Lake East!
Just bought our lot today. Can't wait till spring so we can enjoy that beautiful mountain.
We love up there. New owners. Beautiful area with numerous wildlife. Love the Moose!
