The Shonto Ranch is a truly unique property. Whether you are interested in enjoying world class hunting, fishing, sport clay shooting or wildlife photography you will be immersed in beauty, tranquility and a five star staff. I have been lucky enough to hunt this ranch a half dozen times with friends, clients and my family. My daughter harvested her first deer, caught her first rainbow trout and largemouth bass all of which occurred on the same day! An amazing day that neither of us will ever forget. Shonto Ranch is truly a one of a kind special place! My son and I have been coming to Shonto yearly for the past five years and it NEVER disappoints. Hunting, fishing and enjoying the pure beauty of this ranch and only seems to get better and better and that doesn't seem possible. Chris and his professional team and the great accomadations consistently create an open and welcoming experience. My son is 10 years old and has been hunting himself the past couple years with me and the memories we've made will be with us forever!

Just spent 4 days with Chris and his crew at Shonto Ranch. What an amazing experience!! I brought my three young children as well as my Father, who is pretty handicapped and not able to get around very well. I called around to a few ranches before finding Shonto, and I can't say enough good things about our stay. Chris and Marshall were unbelievably accommodating, and I can't thank them enough for how well they treated my family and I. The house was absolutely perfect, with plenty of beds for everyone, amazing views, and wildlife in our front yard daily. This ranch has everything- seclusion, unbelievable amounts of wildlife, creeks, lakes, fishing, hunting, gazebos and barbeque grills, and GREAT hospitality. I've stayed at numerous lodges and ranches throughout the US, and this is easily one my favorites. Whether you're a hunter, fisherman, wildlife watcher, or just want a peaceful retreat, this is the place for you. You won't be disappointed!! I'll definitely be back.

I live locally, have driven by a "zillion" times, and don't know the owners. I'm posting this for 2 reasons: 1. EVERY time I drive by, I'm stunned at the beauty of this place (to anyone from out of the area: yeah, seriously gorgeous and yes, awesome proximity to Kerrville and other small towns) 2. No recent reviews - since I finally remembered the name of this place and looked it up, I wanted to give a recent comment on at least how beautiful this place is and it's wonderful setting!
