The entire existence of places such as this one is the validation of human laziness and ignorance expressed through hunting of innocent animals or what they call "sport". This is not a sport, it's just comfort for the unevolved mind and the slovenly and lackadaisical existence of people that have absolutely nothing better to do. Sad!

I had the opportunity to be a guest at the Shirley ranch last weekend. WOW. What an awesome weekend. The Bunkhouse is like a 5 star resort. The food was catered by a Nationally known chef. (Best Meal I have ever had.) The hunting was unbelievable. The guides know the property like the back of their hand and do an amazing job of putting you on the trophy of your dreams!

Just got back from another trip to Shirley Ranch. As always...this place does not disappoint. Sitting on almost 3,000 acres in the Texas Hill Country, you experience incredible scenery, great hunting, outstanding food, and gracious hosts. Ryan and his team truly make it feel like you're part of the family every single time. This place is the real deal! Our group killed 3 trophy white tails, 4 management white tails, and 2 aoudads. Do not waste your time and money going somewhere else! This is the ONLY place to go if you're looking for a memorable trip with friends, family, or customers.

I guide on this ranch occasionally and I know the owner personally. I have hunted lots of places and have had very mixed experiences in the past. I can truly say that this ranch is one of the best I have been on. The lodge is full of all kinds of cool critters on the walls. The whole atmosphere is warm and inviting. And the hunting? Top notch! The prices are very reasonable for what you get. Each hunt you will see lots of animals. The guides will make sure you find the trophy you came for. I highly recommend checking this place out!

HUNTING HEAVEN!!! I just spent one of the most memorable weekends with my daughter, hunting at BFR. The ranch is second to none. You'll wear out your binoculars scouting all the trophy whitetails! Ryan and the staff at BFR provide a fun family atmosphere. They measure the success of your hunt by the fun and excitement you have in hunting and harvesting the animal of your dreams. The ranch ranges from rolling meadows to steep mountains, providing ideal terrain for all game.They provide top of the line blinds, large enough to accommodate up to 3 people. The newly renovated lodge is 5 star! Clean, comfortable, and cozy! They also provide skinning racks, walk in cooler, pro shop, armory, large patio with fire pit... Can't say enough! Book a hunt and see for yourself! Update... Last weekend was another amazing hunt. In pursuit of a black buck antelope, I set out safari style in the Jeep with my guide Devin. The hunt was high paced and exhilarating! I soon found myself holding the trophy black buck of my dreams! The ranch is amazing, the animals are huge, and the staff is hospitable. I love hunting with these guys! They are excited about life and passionate about hunting! The meals were hardy Home style meals and the steaks were so tender you turn up your nose to Ruth’s Chris.
