I really appreciate this free living history farm! Awesome staff with a wealth of knowledge about how things used to be done. They do different things during the year so you can go back multiple times and learn about different times.
This is such a great place to visit! It’s a wonderful hands-on experience that really brings farm life to life. All of the volunteers and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate—they’re always happy to answer questions, explain how things work, and share fascinating facts about the animals, crops, and traditional farming practices. You can tell they truly care about preserving and educating others about agricultural history and sustainable living. The farm is well-maintained, the animals are clearly well cared for, and the atmosphere is both peaceful and engaging. Whether you're visiting with kids, friends, or on your own, there’s something here for everyone. It’s both educational and fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, enriching outing.
Very cute little place that has free admission to tour around and learn about some great history the workers were very helpful and informative. Must recommend. Also as a farm it was very clean and wasn't smelly at all.
The LW Paul Living History Farm gives a glimpse into what life was like around 1900-1930. The home is charmingly staged. A water pump on the deck is fun to use. An interpreter gave a wonderful tour explaining all the aspects of what would've been going on; the process of collecting and curing tobacco, making lard, carving utensils, preserving meat, and so much more! The gift shop has a nice collection of books about the history of the area.
Loved it. Small. Free. Actual farm where they still plant tobacco, grind grits, etc. it was nicely done. Very educational. The young girl working there was very knowledgeable even tho she never lived in that time. Thank you.
