Lake in the Dunes

I had the privilege of being invited to a two day, one night trip to Lake In The Dunes. What a treat! The craziest two days of fishing I have ever experienced and I have been fishing all of my adult life. I was never huge fan of lake fishing, as I prefer moving water over still water, but this place changed all of that for me. The fish were hungry, enormous trophy sized rainbows and red sides and they gave up a fun fight. The property consists of beautiful high desert landscape surrounded by snow covered mountains (I was there in March). The cabin was just remodeled (2024) and the amenities were great. Super big, comfy beds (even the bunks) and they even have Starlink Internet with a big screen TV. There is some slower cell phone service. I met Russ the owner/operator and what a nice guy. He just put a shed off to the side of the cabin that is heated so you can hang your waders and put your boots up in a warm place so they are dry for the next day. Very impressed with this place and I hope to visit it again someday!
