We stayed with Jane and Bob for two days in May 2023 right at the ranch (so not in Kenton, which is maybe 4 miles away). There is a cozy little cottage there (bedroom-living-dining room, 1 small room with a bunk bed and a shower/toilet) about 100 yards from the ranch house. With its own small balcony from which you can enjoy the sunrise as well as the sunset with a view of the wilderness and the nearby mountains. We felt very welcome and had very nice and interesting conversations with Jane and Bob. They are incredibly warm people! Thank you for that! Breakfast was excellent and we also had a wonderful dinner together. Jane took a morning to show us the sights. Of course, it's great not only to see the area but also to hear the stories about it! Her son LeRoss took us on a working tour of the cattle. That was great too and we were very happy to be able to accompany him. We had an excellent time. Thanks for that! We toured the small museum in Kenton - Jane had made an appointment for us with Due - the museum boss - and learned a great deal about the history of the area and village. Great recommendation! On this way also a special thanks to Due. So as a conclusion in a nutshell: great great great! Only as a note: a) Two days were too short. b) Who likes hustle and bustle, big cities and 5-star hotels is of course not in good hands there :):)
We stayed in one of their cabins here, in 2017. The hosts were very nice. It was so pretty and peaceful. A perfect place if you're wanting to get away from It all. The night we were there, also happened to be the night of a meteor shower. It was beautiful, since we were far from any city lights, to mar the view. There's a small museum not far from there, with some cool dinosaur tracks. Also some hiking trails. You can hike to the highest point in Oklahoma there.
Incredible time! This is my second time to stay with Jane and Bob. I stayed in the old stone house in town. I wanted some silence and solitude and they were quick to help. Next time I am bringing my wife with me at a time when the skies will be darker. Smoke from the fires out west and a full moon meant for beautiful nights but not many stars.
Fantastic hosts. We were treated like family. The log cabin in Kenton was clean, neat and comfortable. I wish we had more time to spend here. Remember to bring groceries with you, but they have everything you need store and prepare food. Great place to get away to. Solitude.
Utterly delightful hosts, among the most cordial people I've ever met. Appears they have a couple of houses they rent in town, and a log cabin next to their home 3.5mi east of town. Log cabin had a small but full bath & kitchen, a nice bed & two bunk beds. They asked $85 for the cabin, but I pd $100 - worth every penny. If I may offer prayers they receive a little rain.
