The Old Catskill Game Farm Inn

We rented the whole Long Neck Inn, which once housed the giraffes at the Catskill Game Farm. Absolutely charming, and filled with nostalgia. Somehow when this building was remodeled, they managed to retain the feel of the Game Farm while making it absolutely comfortable to stay in. This was a perfect place to have a family reunion. There were 19 of us. Never did it feel crowded. There was more than enough space for both gathering and privacy. Evenings spent around the fire pit was a highlight, while listening to the chorus of crickets, cicadas, and tree frogs, enjoying sweet conversation and laughter, as we watched the daylight wane, and the stars coming out one by one in all their glory. Shawn, the caretaker and host, is simply wonderful. He was always available to answer questions, and is a wealth of information. We enjoyed lots of conversation with him. He has many stories to tell. And he cares very much about this place he is responsible for. Please consider renting the Long Neck Inn for a family reunion or any type of group event. You will not be disappointed!

Work brought me to the Catskills for 2 weeks and not only was I able to work with the incredible owners and GM of the Game Farm for our film shoot, but was lucky enough to stay in the lodge on the property. As someone who deals with some travel anxiety, staying here felt like home. They have a knack for making you feel welcomed and at ease. Laundry/ Linens/ Full, well designed Kitchen, and living room are all available to make your stay feel like you're walking in to your own home at the end of every night. The outdoor grill and fire pit make it easy to relax in the evenings. The house is a convenient drive to Catskill, Saugerties, Kingston, Hudson, and Woodstock to itch all your day/ night time frolicking needs. The property spans for acres with endless walking trails and places to explore. The songs of the local frog population sing you to sleep. Mountain peaks surround you like a friendly hug. This property is a dream and only keeps getting better. I feel fortunate enough to have met these incredible people who run this place and now consider them as friends. 5-Stars all around. You will not regret this stay.

We just got back from a relaxing weekend at Old Game Farm. It was such a unique and beautiful spot. We were so fascinated by the history of the property. We would take walks every day and find more to explore. We stayed in The Giraffe room and it was beautiful and very clean. The hot tub outdoors was really nice, too. The staff was SO friendly and welcoming. We forgot our dog's food and they let us take some of theirs. Daniel spent a lot of time talking to us about the history of the zoo and was kind and generous. Our dog Ralphie loved it too:) We will definitely be coming back.

We absolutely adored our stay at Lock Neck Inn for NYE. the staff was safe, accommodating, so generous, and kind. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, specifically the Giraffe room on the first floor. The grounds are so great to walk through. The dogs of our Group were welcome with open arms, and were even given a large treat at the top of our stay. We are excited to come back for a future visit. If you are looking for something distant, safe, and clean this is the place to go!

We stayed at the Fido's Vineyard camp site and loved it. This was our second time staying there and definitely plan on going back. We camp a lot and this site has been our favorite place. The campsite is so comfortable and the rain shelter is a nice added bonus on hot days it's shady and cool and on rainy days it nice to have a spacious dry area and not be cramped. We bring our dog and she loves having the acre to run and play. The Long Neck Inn is beautiful and it's nice having the option of the outdoor shower and proper bathroom when camping. The game farm grounds are fun to explore, even with this being the second time there I found areas I had missed the first time.
