Absolutely incredible. There is so much to see and do here. We really enjoyed the trails behind the visitor center and stayed for a while just watching the pupfish in the ponds. We came here mainly to visit the Devils Hole pupfish and see the crystal ponds but we will definitely be back to check out other areas specifically for birdwatching. Really interesting to learn about the history and how they wanted to develop the land. I’m glad they didn’t so we can all enjoy the stunning nature in the middle of the desert. Keep in mind all the roads are unpaved.
Beautiful visitor center. We were fortunate for private boardwalk educational tour by & as our Granddaughter works there. Saw the endangered puffer fish, invasive crawfish, lizards, the natural springs, grapes growing!
We visited back in May but I find myself thinking back to this place often. One of the most interesting places I’ve been. I’d highly recommend visiting this hidden gem.
As a biologist this place is cool. A lot of endemic organisms, tons of insect life and birds at the right time. I would really like to come back and spring and catch the area in bloom.
Not a fish To be seen. We drove a dirt road for 30 minutes expecting something great. Instead you get a fenced off viewpoint of a hole with water.
