Wheaton Creek Ranch

Excellent turkey hunt! We were a group of 5, everyone harvested their first Merriam gobbler. The lodging was top notch, the hospitality was amazing, the food was phenomenal, and the hunting was definitely nothing short of unforgettable! David and his team are very gracious and will do whatever it takes to provide their clients with the ultimate fair chase hunting experience.

I guess this property is about elk hunting. I went on a turkey hunt this spring and it was well below average. I have turkey hunted for many years and recognize good turkey hunting. This property isn't it. Lodging was okay. The food was very good. I just wish the turkey hunting had been as good as the food. I give it two stars for the food and lodging.

This was our first Elk hunt and it could not have been better! Our guide, Davey, was amazing and the overall experience from the property to the hunting was excellent. We were able to find and shoot an Elk on day two and then hike a short distance to carry out the meat to where the vehicle was. The location of this ranch is amazing - with pasture and mountains easily accessible depending on where the Elk are. The lodge is very nice - the chef always had snacks and something hot (soup, chili, etc) out and the daily meals were great. Nice work to all involved!

Second year to spend time at WCR. Plus to the setting; facilities; birdwatching; incredibly friendly staff in both years. When you consider the WCR location, you accept that it's not "easy" to get to. You need to prepare in advance for that. The negative for both years is the intermittent access at the rooms outside lodge to internet and/or phone. It's 4.5 rating for my wife & I. If you had a home alarm situation or a family emergency, connectivity should be essentially 100% guaranteed.

Such an amazing hunt here at Wheaton Creek Ranch. My brother and I were both able to harvest 2 great bull elk on the first and second days of the hunt. Our Guide Dustin was by far the most amazing person to work with and set us up for success. This hunt was a tough one and the terrain is insane but it was my most favorite hunting experience ever. Happy to say all 6 of us had success. We would like to thank the entire team here at Wheaton Creek Ranch once again our guide Dustin (Superman) to the other guides Chuck and Davey, to our amazing chef David and of course Mr. Stanley for allowing us to hunt his wonderful property. I highly recommend this wonderful place if you are looking for an amazing opportunity to harvest a New Mexico Elk.
