Let me start by saying I go on a lot of outfitted hunts and I am telling you about my experience with ridgeline outfitters. I have never done a negative review before, but I feel like it is necessary considering some people only get to go on a dream hunt once or twice in their lives. This was definitely the worst paid hunt I have gone on. I paid for a 1-1 hunt and didn't have a guide until my first afternoon, I had to tag along with another hunter the first half day. I understand things happen, but I didn't find out until the night before we were going to start hunting I wouldn't have a guide. Dan didn't even call me; it was one of his other guides that told me this. After I got upset, I finally heard from Dan. (the anticipation of the hunt is just as important to me as the hunt, and he took that away) After that, Dan didn't check in with us while there or after the hunt. This tells me he doesn't care about the client. Take this for whatever you wish, but Dan said everyone will get a chance/shot at a bull, 100% opportunity rate. (That should've been the first flag.) I knew that really wasn't possible, but I took him for his word, at the end of the day we are bow hunting which is tough to begin with. I went 4 straight days without even seeing an elk and we were hunting from basically sunup to sundown. Dan will tell you whatever you want to hear, he is a salesman. We had 7 guys in camp and only one guy had an opportunity. At one point in the hunt, 3 different clients were hunting the same ridge and going after the same elk. The one positive out of this week was, My guide and all the other guides in camp that I met went above and beyond, very knowledgeable and they didn't quit. Other than that, there is nothing good to say about Dan and Ridgeline outfitters.

This man is all about money! Fast talking salesman. I have no experience with his “guided hunting” but my husband did yard work for Dan. My husband gave him a quote of $200 for the work he was asking to be done. Once my husband finished he only paid him $100 and refused to acknowledge the prior agreement they had made. He also wanted my husband to illegally dump his trash into the neighbors property to which Dan states he does “all the time”. No respectable businessman would treat a fellow businessman with such disrespect nor the environment. From the reviews I’ve read you either get a great experience or ripped off, no in between. May be able to find elk but holds little morals.

I highly recommend Dan and his team. Hunted Arizona late season rifle had a great time with Dan, Adrian & Noah. The guys worked very hard on a tough hunt- Dan was personally there as well. Building points again to hunt Arizona and this year I enjoyed the experience so much I am hunting Elk in New Mexico with Dan and Ridgeline this fall! These guys work hard and are the real deal.

My son and I, went on our first western hunt with Ridgeline Outfitters! Our guide Tarrance had us on good goats almost immediately. We are looking forward to booking our next hunt with Dan and his team!

I can’t recommend this outfitter enough! Dan explained the draw tag process and then walked us through the draw tag application, making it easy and stress-free. As first-time elk hunters, my wife and I had an incredible experience, even though we didn’t harvest a bull. The team was exceptional—knowledgeable, supportive, and always eager to share their passion for hunting. Our guide Jason, did an outstanding job with locating, scouting, and maximizing our chances of us getting a shot opportunity and I was impressed with his knowledge of elk and their habits. He was not only a top-notch guide but a great person in general and someone that I consider a great friend now. I can’t wait to go back and hunt with Ridgeline and Jason again next year. The breathtaking scenery and thrilling adventures made for unforgettable moments that we will cherish for a lifetime. We learned so much and made great memories together. If you’re looking for an amazing elk hunting experience, this outfitter is the way to go. We’ll definitely be back! Five stars all the way! Id give it more stars if I could!
