Wow! The most incredible week, surrounded by the beautiful Montana mountain range, fresh air, nature and softest water. Sweetgrass is a special place, and a must visit for horse lovers and enthusiasts. The groups are kept intentionally small, the accommodation is homely, as are the hosts. The horses are incredibly well natured and cared for. There is a reason why you meet so many returning guests at Sweetgrass, because once you visit it’s hard not to return.

Page and Pat are the most gracious hosts of their six generation homestead. They share their lifestyle with us for just a moment in time, and it is beautiful. These pictures do not do righteous justice to the natural beauty and wide open spaces. Nestled in the valley of the Crazy Mountains, this gem of a place offers incredible freedoms with their massive herd of horses and incredible staff! Their wranglers are mostly family and close family friends so the vast experience and knowledge of the area is awesome. You pretty much get to make your horse experience what you want—day rides, overnight rides, experience rides, beginner rides. And the food…. Three times a day, DELISH! Served family style with all the guests (usually never more than 30/week) and workers of the ranch, you get a true sense of family with everyone. And the cooks are so personable and fun! We also had a blast midway through the week putting on a Karoke night/line dancing in their outdoor pavilion with all the staff and guests. And later in the week we got to corral 250+ herd of cattle on horseback as we moved the cows over a few pastures for grazing purposes. Special shout out to Erin and Connor (Page/Pat kids) for their warm hospitality and fun humor! This ranch is in good hands down the line. Lastly, we also really enjoyed the dogs on site—oh, to have their life—heaven on earth. Looking for an authentic dude ranch with amazing family fun experiences? This is the place.

Spending a week at the Sweet Grass Ranch was an incredible experience. The views were stunning and the riding was incredible. A week with no television, no internet, and limited cell service...perfection. I stayed in a small, two person cabin built in the 1940's. There is electricity and a bathroom but no A/C, which suited me just fine. We rode horses for hours starting in the early morning (up by 0500 and riding by 0630). A break for lunch then a few more hours in the afternoon. First day was an incredible cattle drive. We didn't just ride along, we actually got to work the horse and cattle! The wranglers were all experienced and helpful. Every day was a full schedule with some down time to nap if needed. Breakfast at 0730. Lunch at 1230. Supper at 1830. All meals are served in the community dining room. It was great to mingle with the other guests and get to know them and their families. The food was extraordinary! Lots of steak (it is a cattle ranch) but if you have a "special" diet the cooks will accommodate. The entire trip was pricey but I felt I got great value for my money. The ranch is two hours from Bozeman. The ranch will send a shuttle on Sundays to pick up guests. I believe it was $180 a person. My flight was delayed so I had to rent a car to get to the ranch. Budget charged $1,100 for the week! That was the only negative about the trip. If you go to Sweet Grass, don't expect a pony ride. You will go on some technical trails and be prepared to work the horse. They are all well-mannered horses but you can't be timid. This was an EPIC adventure I won't soon forget. Highly recommend a stay on the ranch!

This ranch is the best. Family friendly and you will feel like you have a new family when you leave. I was very impressed with the amount of returning people while we were there! The wranglers were very efficient and encouraging. They let you do a lot of what you want to do you just need to ask. There are games on horseback. Swimming with the horses, loping through fields, day trips, overnight camping (extra charge), amazing food for every meal, lots of dogs, a bridge you can jump into the creek, piano playing, pool, card games, cookout…so much fun for the whole family!

Sweet Grass is such an incredible place, a must see for anyone looking for a ranch adventure. The staff are fantastic, horses are well cared for and the scenery is breathtaking. The wranglers are very accommodating and really deliver on all types of riding. The food is delicious and always comes in ample portions. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week and can not wait to get back 🤠🤠
