Rivers Edge Outdoors (Formerly B & J Guide Service)

Just had a great opening muzzleloader season hunt with the owner John and one of his guides, Hunter. I've used other guides in the past in CO, AZ, and MD but these folks were definitely one of the best. They all worked hard to put you in the right spot and I saw a ton of deer (probably 24 or so does, bucks, fawns, and yearlings). If you want a doe for the freezer, make sure you have a big one...there are plenty to be had. As for the bucks, they are smartly managed and you can only shoot 8 pointers or better, which makes for a real good chance at landing a serious buck. I personally was only looking to fill the freezer this time out (already planning on going back for opening gun season at the end of Nov.). Several of the hunters harvested some really nice bucks and spotted some real monsters. The properties are very large, varied terrain, and well maintained. He keeps his guests well spread out (like 3 people on a 1000 acre property) and the stands are well placed and well kept. Of the folks I meet this time out, most of them were repeat customers...some have been coming back for many many years. As noted, I will be back later this year and already signed up for next years opening season!

Best guide service I’ve ever used. The land they have to hunt on is pristine and has plenty of deer. If you don’t get a deer, you probably did something wrong.
