High Roost

Recently got to run my two dogs at High Roost for their public opener and I was very impressed. Was a little warm, but the dogs found the birds and the shooting wasn’t the best. Love the cover, and it was a great warm up for grouse and woodcock season. Some of the areas reminded me of hunting Maine in some of the regenerating clear cuts. High roost has been incredible since day one. I love the variety of cover. Running the dogs on more birds has been great. Not having to drive to different states to extend the season has been great. Very well put together by Garrett.

Great view of the pond that my Lab swam in before and after our 1&1/2 hour private bird hunt at High Roost. Upland bird hunters have few choices in southern New England to hunt in their natural habitats. High Roost is a welcome alternative to poorly stocked state land and overpriced private preserves that are crowded and over hunted. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed. Dr Tom Enright

New member. Great first visit. If you like to actually hunt for your birds, this is where it is at. Dog had a blast! Well organized, great cover, like-minded people, plenty of birds. What’s not to like?!

Always such a great experience at High Roost. I was a member during their first year and plan to be a member this year. Everyone has always been so helpful! 5 stars!
