Jelk's Bayou Hunting Lodge

Caleb and his team are true pros: total focus on safety, ready to host groups such as ours with a mix of beginners and experienced hunters. The lodge is comfortable, grounds beautifully kept, and cooking very good. I highly recommend Jelk's.

My father and I drove from Wisconsin to hunt at Jelk's Bayou Hunting Lodge the week between Christmas and New Year 2017/2018. I am a medium game and upland hunter, but had never hunted ducks or other waterfowl before, my father had been to Jelk's the year previous, but otherwise had no waterfowl experience. Andrew was very professional, hospitable and informative to a new duck hunter such as myself. The lodge, restrooms and sleeping quarters are kept clean and comfortable. The lodge has a very "homey" feel to it which is much appreciated after coming in from a long days hunt out in the cold! Equipment is kept in good working condition and their Wirehaired Pointer, Fritz, is a duck retrieval machine; we enjoyed being in his company a lot! We had a great time and cannot wait to come back! If you're looking for the best duck hunting and overall experience in Louisiana, look no further.

comfortable roomy lodge. knowledgeable guides and staff. food preparation by chef was second to none. snowed and flooding conditions made the ducks scarce but the accomodations made up for it.

Absolutely love it! It's really beautiful! My husband is doing a job out here, so actually getting to see the views out here, are great!

This place is truly God's country. Family clean fun.
