Brought my kids to the swimming hole and we all had a blast. Not too big but perfect for little ones and the animals were so friendly some of them came and got in the water

We absolutely LOVE Almosta Ranch! Our daughter signed up to volunteer shortly after learning about the program and the staff treats her like family. She also takes horse riding lessons. Sadie is the most patient and knowledgeable teacher. The animal variety at Almosta Ranch is the best I’ve seen at a local ranch.

Today I brought my oldest child to their volunteer hours. Ember is a six year old girl who loves animals, and god knows animals love her. We pulled our minivan up to this beautiful little ranch and parked by their duck pond. We entered their office and were greeted immediately and so warmly by Ms Sadie. She explained the program to us and was so kind to Ember. We were lucky enough to be the only volunteers this afternoon that sounds funny, but Ember has a lot of social anxiety, and anxiety when it comes to new environments. It was the perfect situation for us. Sadie introduced us to some other volunteers that were doing jobs around the ranch, and then we began our tour. We got the red carpet rolled out, for sure. We got an intimate look at the ranch. Sadie was beyond personal with Ember. She educated her about the different animals, taught her safety, was thoughtful about her needs. When it was time to meet the birds, we also met the owner, Bill. Bill was genuinely so kind. You can see that this person is so passionate about what he does. He was so engaging with Ember, and he showed her all of the different birds. We all chatted throughout the tour. I felt very comfortable and even at home. At the end of the tour, Sadie offered us some watermelon and water at the office. We got to feed the rind to the pigs. That was also a priceless moment. Then, some of the other volunteers helped Ember ride their zipline. Young girls who were obviously so gentle and kind hearted were so patient with my daughter and helped her throughout. At the end, we all stood around and chatted before leaving. This was priceless. It is going to be a core memory in the lens of how my child views the world..and it was free. What more can you ask for? What Almosta Ranch doesn’t know, is that we are a special needs family. We see ourselves as differently able, not disabled. Teaching people to be kind and authentic with every sort of person changed lives. Tonight my autistic daughter and my autistic self felt so genuinely safe for us to be able to learn and grow. I wouldn’t have traded tonight for all of King Midas gold. We will be back every Thursday. We will also be attending their upcoming farmers market. We are so excited to spend time here.

Went today to do the Farm tour and swim. We had the best time and will be back! Highly recommend. Everyone is nice and the animals are well fed and taken of.

We went here for my niece's birthday and the staff were beyond amazing! So helpful and patient with the kids. Would love to visit again once it cools down.
