I can't say enough good things about the owner and founder of Living Large Outfitters Christopher Large as a person and as an outdoorsman. Christopher is a person of high character, ambition, fairness and decency who is very educated when it comes to the whitetail species and his ground. I had a last minute lease fall through. I called Christopher and he hooked it up the very same day. He put me on a beautiful new lease of his in Pike County which enabled me to harvest my first Illinois Pope & Young. I hunted on Chris's ground for a total of 2.5 days. We kept in constant communication throughout the days I hunted with him and he was always checking in at the end of the day to make sure I was safely back to my camp as I didn't stay at his lodge. Christopher and I had great conversations about whitetail hunting, property management, and how deer use each property differently. It was fun to here different perspectives and to bounce ideas off of each other. I would 10 out of 10 recommend Christopher Large & Living Large Outfitters to anyone looking to hunt whitetail Illinois. You'll be glad you did.

Late season is always a challenge. I picked Chris to put me in the best position possible to have the opportunity to harvest an Illinois Giant. With the weather being the biggest challenge, the second day I had my target buck at 70 yards, just outside of bow range. Even though I was not successful, the bucks are everywhere and enjoyed watching them every sit. Chris is a great guide and knows his properties inside and out. I highly recommend booking your Illinois hunt with him. Thank you Chris, I will be back!

I had the pleasure of spending 4 days at Living Large Outfitters for the Illinois 2nd gun season this year. Chris was a wonderful host with clean, comfortable accommodations and the food was excellent. I saw good numbers of deer each day and although I did not get a chance to harvest a mature buck I did see them while hunting and he had trail camera pictures of mature bucks nearly every day while I was there. Christopher went above and beyond to try to get me a deer and I will plan on being back in the future! UPDATE 2022 SEASON: After not harvesting a buck in 2021 I went ahead and booked for second gun season again. I did not regret it! On the first morning of my hunt I was blessed with a beautiful 160” 10 point. Accommodations were comfortable as they were on my first trip, food was wonderful, and it was great to see Christopher again. I believe I’ve made a life long friend and hunting partner, and am already looking forward to getting back to Illinois next year.

We had a group of 6 and went .500 on the week. 3 great deer taken with archery equipment. Very comfortable accommodations and good food. The hunting is top notch. Great properties and a great guide.

One hundred percent the greatest hunt of my life I have hunted all of the country and this blew those hunts away. I showed up Sunday afternoon and tagged out the following day on an absolute giant. Chris will put you on them and if you go in November expect to see multiple bucks all day long. Highly recommend if I could put a 10 star review I would!
