Lick Creek Game Preserve

Found a trail head off of Sheridan Road. Gorgeous hiking some hills and steep walking, beautiful creeks, nice prairie parts with lots of deer. At one point I walked through a group of probably 20+ deer standing around, was wild. Reminded me of how beautiful some of the land is around here. :) only thing this place could use is some maps!! There’s so much to explore I walked for two hours and still didn’t see everything.

I HAVE LIVED ABOUT 5 MILES FROM THIS HUNTING/FISHING PRESERVE FOR 80 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT. i USED TO PLAY THE GOLF COURSE OFTEN WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND ABLE TO WALK BETTER. NOW I HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT AND HOPE TO GET TO USE IT. I hOPE IT IS AS GOOD AS SHOWN ON THE 'ILLINOIS ADVENTURE' TV SHOW...
