If you're considering Teton Valley Lodge for your next trip, you should absolutely book your stay because you will be thrilled with everything from the moment you arrive - the only disappointment is having to leave on your last day! My husband and I stayed at TVL for 4 nights and had 3 days of guided fly fishing. I'm far from an expert at fly fishing, but our guide, Harrison, was an excellent (and very patient!) teacher. We fished with Harrison all 3 days and caught some incredible fish. We've never seen a guide work as hard as Harrison - he would row us back upstream time and time again to give us more chances at fish or because he knew there would be a big one hiding along a certain ledge - and he knew every turn of the river like the back of his hand. We lost track of how many beautiful fish we caught, including several personal best browns and a lifetime cutthroat. Not only is the fishing top notch, but the lodge itself is fantastic. The cabins were spacious and very clean, and everyone working there went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had what we needed. I'd like to especially call out the chefs in the kitchen. We spoke with Jake and Benji several times, and I know there are many other members of the team that are part of the incredible experience, but every dinner we had over the course of four nights was one of the best meals we'd ever eaten in our lives. There were four courses for dinner, and each night was completely different from the last. The creativity that went into the food was unbelievable, and it's clear that there is a true passion and love for cooking in the kitchen. (Honestly, I'd travel back just for a chance to eat their food again!) Breakfast was wonderful as well and always cooked fresh when you arrived, and the packed lunches to have on the river were very generous and filling. In summary: this was one of, if not the, best vacation we've ever had. We're already figuring out when we can come back for another visit. Thanks for everything, TVL!

From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. They've been guiding trips for a long time and it shows. I'd only caught maybe a dozen trout in my life, and just a couple of those were on a fly rod. Our guide, Chris Scott, couldn't have been better. Marc, the other fisherman in my boat, had fly fished all over the world, and I had no clue what I was doing. Chris somehow taught me how to use a flyrod all the while also helping Marc cast to the perfect spots. He knew the river like the back of his hand. In spite of all that, I was even more impressed by something Chris did for one of our fish. We were fishing "dry drops" and one Rainbow was hooked on the dry, but the drop had gone through his gills and popped out the other end. When it was landed, both hooks got tangled in the net. It was a huge mess. Chris immediately went into "trauma surgeon" mode. He fought and fought like crazy to save that fish. He had to put it back into the river probably 10 times so the fish could grab a few breaths. I watched the whole thing from a couple feet away. Not for one minute did I think he could save that fish. But when it was all said and done, Chris had gotten it loose and it swam away like nothing had happened. To me, that was the epitome of how a true outdoorsman / nature lover should act. Based on that incident alone, I would give Chris a 10+++ rating.

We booked a full day guided trip for our honeymoon, and it was amazing! Our guide, David, was such a hard worker and one of the most personable guides I've ever worked with. He had us on fish all day when the weather was not ideal, and made sure my wife and I had a great time. We hope to be back!

Outstanding in every respect. Great accommodations, gourmet dining, the best guides we've ever fished with and a staff that anticipates your needs. Seems spendy but really a good value for the total high level experience. We're average fly fishers and we landed more fish than with any guide service on the Henry's Fork or Madison. Most of the guests we visited with have been coming back here for many years. Our first stay here and we understand why. That is the Tetons in the background, the views are breathtaking.
