We had a wedding dinner here. The chef was so great to work with, the staff was friendly and easy-going. The food was absolutely incredible, as were the views.
Stopped by on the recommendation of a local, and I'm very glad to have done so! One of the oldest buildings in Idaho state- initially built as an inn for travellers, it was converted into a ranch and now is an attraction for fly fishing. They have cabins, a large communal building, a big creek out back for private fishing, and plenty of wildlife in the area. The structures themselves are gorgeous and a treat for anyone with an interest in turn of the century architecture. Tons of character and interesting things to see. If I were a fly fishing or historical enthusiast, this is the place I'd go! The staff are great- specifically Alonzo- the food phenomenal, and the whole area is just a great experience.
I and a friend stayed for the first time in early Sept of 2015 to fish the Henry's Fork and other wonderful rivers/lakes near island park and Yellowstone. What a great place. Rustic but warm and inviting. Food was great home cooking. Steaks, roast turkey, A nice lake to fish, wild life galore. (Saw a moose just 100 yards away from the entrance) and an occasional bear. Grizzly was a week before we arrived. Hot showers. Clean linens and towels. It's better priced than camping. Better than the motels in the area and you get great meals. I love it and am going back this July.
The food is fantastic. We had the pork tenderloin with apple chutney. Then peach huckleberry cobbler for dessert. Can’t wait for the breakfast tomorrow. Beautiful views of the lake from the lodge. The lodge was built in 1900 the oldest original building in Island Park. Cute rustic cabins spread throughout the property among the trees.
We stayed here while fly fishing and visiting Yellowstone. Great breakfast in the morning, a packed lunch while we were gone for the day and a fantastic dinner when we got back that evening. Rustic cabins were very comfortable and clean. While sitting at dinner we even saw a cow moose with her calf approach the backside of the lake. Great time all around. Would come back again for sure.
