Diamond D Ranch

There are not enough words to describe how amazing the ranch is. My adult daughter and I signed up for a week and having never been to a ranch before we didn’t know what to expect. Diamond D exceeded our expectations. It’s true those last 20 miles that you travel to get to this hidden gem keep you guessing if you are on the right path. Once you arrive to the stunning views that surround you, you will understand. The trip back is much easier because you know what to expect. From the time we are greeted to the time when we left we were treated like family as well if the ranch was ours. The owners and every staff member goes above and beyond. We stayed above the office and had the best view. We spent our down time sitting on our porch and taking in the beauty. We did trail rides every day. Do take the lunch rides. They go higher up and offer you the most amazing views and the wranglers are great! Food..what’s not to love. Greeted with smiles at every meal and the kitchen staff works hard to meet all your needs! I am not sure that Cara and Dana are truly aware of what a blessing they offer to their guests. It was magical. It takes special people that can open up their home and openly offer to guests while making them feel like family and not guests. It’s not something I could do. Finally, we were fortunate to meet and share this experience with some amazing other guests just as family would normally do. We are home now and I have to say we are dealing with some let down. Missing the ranch.

Probably one of the best family experiences we have had. Kara and her crew do an amazing job of hosting. Everyone is so friendly and the service is fantastic. A very special place to experience. We can’t say enough about this place. Definitely a very nice place and great experience.

My recent hunting trip with the Diamond D Ranch turned out to be the adventure of a lifetime. Having a fair amount of hunting experience was helpful but I had never ridden a horse or hunted in the mountains so this was truly and adventure. The staff and guides at the ranch made us feel at home from the moment we met them. I was able to harvest a mule deer on the trip but that was just a bonus as the 7 days at the ranch was fulfilling enough. It is very hard to describe the ruggedness and beauty of the landscape without seeing it in person so plan your trip!

First time Hunter, with the diamond D. Immediately got a great vibe from this place upon arrival. All of the staff was very friendly and you could tell they enjoyed working there, always a good sign! The food was great and there was plenty of it. Very difficult to describe the beauty of this place, but it is absolutely incredible. Every day we were out on horseback riding through some of the most beautiful country I have experienced. The guides were professional, knowledgeable and determined to find game. After a long hunt and a great dinner, sitting around enjoying the view at the ranch is about as peaceful a feeling as you’ll ever have. If you’re looking to do a guided hunt on horseback, and you go somewhere else, you’re missing out!

9/23/23 I had the pleasure of visiting Diamond D Ranch in Idaho, and I cannot express enough how they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The warm and welcoming staff greeted us with genuine smiles and made sure we were comfortable throughout our entire stay. One of the highlights of our trip was the horseback riding my kids all under 10 got to do daily. The well-trained horses were gentle and obedient, making it a perfect adventure for riders of all levels. We embarked on a thrilling elk hunt with my amazing guide and his grandson, riding through picturesque trails and learning about the rich history of the area. The knowledgeable guides made the experience even more memorable by sharing fascinating stories and facts about the area. I harvested a beautiful 5 x 5 mature bull elk and a mule deer buck on my 5th day!! We stayed in the executive suite and could not believe how spacious it was. It was more then enough room for our family of 5 with beautiful quality decor and very clean. Another unforgettable activity offered by Diamond D Ranch was the hiking. My wife and son went hiking in a new direction everyday, no problem getting her steps in. We also tried fly fishing for the first time unforgettable! Caught my first fish on a fly. The range was well-maintained and provided a safe environment for us to try our hand at target practice. My guide was patient and skilled, ensuring that we had a fantastic time while also prioritizing our safety. What truly sets Diamond D Ranch apart is the sense of belonging they create. The owners dana and her parents and all the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like part of their family. They took the time to get to know us, shared meals with us, and made sure we had everything we needed. It was heartwarming to witness their genuine care and dedication to creating a memorable experience for each guest. Overall, my experience at Diamond D Ranch was nothing short of exceptional. From the horseback riding to the gold mining, hunting, hiking and shooting activities, every moment was filled with excitement and adventure. I highly recommend this ranch to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable vacation.
