Day Mountain Ranch Resort

DMR is a fantastic Ranch in the mountains in Preston Idaho. Incredible shooting venue with a 5 Star resort. The owner and family have an incredible setup, with ultra long practice range, and the most incredible courses for any long range shooter. Doug and family are great! Check their 2025 schedule- and come have fun. A family vacation that wont disappoint- and check out their store, and their classes. 5 Stars!

We stayed in one of the new cottages at the ranch back in June! It was perfect for our little family of 4 and our kids were absolutely enamored with all the surrounding nature. Could not say enough positive things about this place!

For the last 15 years my company has done a weekend snowmobile trip/retreat. The last 2 years we’ve stayed at Day Mountain Ranch and I’m certain that we will be back. The accommodations are amazing, the views are incredible and having access to the Gun Range puts that cherry on top! We had 2 great days of riding, a day on the range and cooked dinner and ate together at the pavilion. Doug and Drew were both great hosts at the Range. I can’t wait until the next trip!

Last weekend I attended their women’s gun retreat. Doug and Drew gave a very informative seminar on gun safety, care, and shooting. Their shooting range is state of the art and facilities are super clean and well outfitted. The cabins are beautiful, very comfortable and clean. The staff was very hospitable I would highly recommend them for a wonderful place to get away, enjoy the outdoors and feel pampered. We’ll definitely be back again!

Best place to spend time with family! We stayed at DMR for the Famous Preston Night Rodeo weekend the last week of July. We’ve stayed in Cabin 1 which is the larger cabin a couple years ago, and it was fantastic. This year we stayed at Cabin 4, and it was maybe even better… we just loved the layout for our group, we spend lots of time together upstairs making breakfast and late night hanging out together. This year we didn’t have time for horseback riding, which we did in the last, but we loved doing that before. The cabins are beautiful and didn’t miss a single detail. Comfy beds! We even used the pavilion for a memorial dinner with our larger group of family, and it was perfect for such a great evening of spending time with family. We’ll always book DMR when we’re visiting Preston!
