Fantastic. Everything you read about this guy thats good is right. Talked to many other people on the island. They all said they knew him and he was a great guy. He is. No akwardness straight to easy conversation. He taugh me some history. The hunt was amazing the dogs were so well trained and super friendly to everyone but the hogs.He has a bait shop that was lost to the fires. He rebuilt. Stop in and buy something. I did. The prices are really suprisingly good. Hes supporting others with jobs. Grew up in a valley with no power. Hes a hunter a fisherman. Has multiple guide options. This guy is a badass. The lady working the bait shop i didnt catch her name kind friendly eaay to talk to you can tell thry are all good people.

If you are looking for a challenge and a new experience, HUNT WITH LAPOKA! I had a great time with one of the nicest guides I have ever met. He did everything in his power to make it a very memorable hunt and I could not thank him enough for his generosity and well versed experience with the land. 10/10 lifetime experience

LoPaka is one of the hardest working, down to earth guides you could find. My teenage year old son and I did a boar hunt. We had great success and the event was amazing. LoPaka is knowledgeable and shared natural history and told stories about growing up near Lahaina. He works hard to support his family and is well-known in the community. If you want a genuine Hawaii experience do this hunt. His dogs are studs. This is NOT sit in a tree, wait, and shoot a hog. This is pursuit of the Polynesian Boar! This creature crossed the Pacific with the first peoples to settle Hawaii generations ago.

This hunt was by far the best experience of my 10 day trip in Maui! Lopaka was a great guide and very educational about the island. The dogs had a great morning and gave us the chance to double up on a couple hogs! You will experience views of the island most visitors never see and come back with stories you will never forget. I really wanted to book a spear fishing tour but couldn’t fit in in my schedule. I would recommend this hunt to anyone looking for a heart racing adventure! Thanks again Lopaka for everything!

Spearfishing with Sam was incredible! Not only is Sam a real deal, down to earth guide but his expertise and knowledge of the local spots is prime. As two adults comfortable with snorkeling (and some spearfishing experience) this tour was great! Be advised the ocean doesn't care about your schedule so be ready to be flexible on the spot and visibility. I did see a couple schools of fish and shot at about a half dozen with no luck (to be expected). However, Sam pointed out a ton of cool things including lobster and also how to lure and catch octopus. He was even generous to give us an octopus which we fried at our place.
