Fantastic experience. Extremely friendly staff willing to go out of their way to make sure that you are enjoying yourself. Great dove, duck and perdiz hunting, comfortable lodge and great food. Good selection of guns, so no need to go through the trouble of bringing one.

We had an amazing week here looked after by Martin, Carolina and the team. The shooting was fantastic and the home comforts were great - all in the middle of the Uruguayan countryside. Special mention to Will and his expert cheffing skills. We will be back!!

It’s hard to imagine a more friendly, welcoming, and competent staff at every level at the Closaway lodge in Uruguay. We ate some of our birds as appetizers at every dinner and all the meals were gourmet. We had excellent dove, pigeon, duck and Perdiz shooting. My favorite experience was closely following Rufo (Brittany) in 1.5’ grass as he creeped in on what I thought was a Perdiz. We were both stunned when a 3’ tall Rhea jumped up and took off like a racehorse. What a fine adventure in great weather. Many Thanks Dwight, Martin & crew.

I have had the pleasure of hunting with Closaway Outfitters twice. Once in 2019 and again in 2023. The experience is unforgettable. Closaway hits the mark on all requisites for an international hunting trip. Great staff, impeccable hunts, and an extensive dive into the local cuisine utilizing the harvested game. Other highlights include stargazing, wine (over)consumption, and fellowship with your party. Would absolutely recommend the trip, and if you're fortunate, someone from your party will harvest a wascally wabbit during a Perdiz hunt!

Review?......There is just no way to write an effective review, so bear with me…. The mixed bag keeps the enjoyment to a peak (as opposed to hunting one species every hunt). The duck, dove, pigeon, and pediz hunting is incredible- no way to describe – every hunt is your best hunt. This lodge doesn't give off a “commercial feel” but a feeling of home and as if you were hunting your own farm. The operation is small in hunter numbers, which keeps up the personal touch and a feeling of a private ranch, and everything is high end – done right every time, though simple. The guides are personal, super friendly and accommodating always. Food is great, excellent chefs, and every plate at every meal is a surprise to your palate. Accommodations are perfect – rooms tidied up and clothes washed for you every day. The guns (autos and O/O) are like-new and ALWAYS in good working condition and are cleaned (and repaired if needed) after every hunt. Most of the time you are the only person around for miles - It’s like stepping back in time 150 years. Being an American, where I’m not allowed to think, breath, or move without the help of our govt, this place and this country is a place of freedom. NOT downplaying the hunting, the experience is truly second to none. All glory to God!
