Homestead Ranch | Colorado Trophy Elk Hunts

Grateful for the opportunity to provide DJ services at this incredible venue. So much history! As a local DJ with Gunnison Valley Entertainment, I'm so glad that they not only provide great experiences for hunters but also an opportunity for incredible couples to say "I DO." :) Hope to celebrate again at Homestead Ranch soon!

Homestead Ranch provided among the best experiences I've ever had while hunting. From the incredible landscape of their ranch to the amazingly well-managed elk herd, everything I had hoped for was met or exceeded! The lodge is comfortable and nicely appointed. The bar is well-stocked and the home-cooked meals couldn't be better. Most importantly, the staff and guides are just an incredible group of people that go far out of their way to ensure each hunter has the best possible experience and chance to bag a trophy bull elk. I cannot recommend Honestead Ranch more highly, and I will be returning as soon as my schedule allows!

Looking for a neat place to stay instead of camping while traveling through Western Colorado around Black Canyon. What a cool place a history that will go on for generations and ran by a great family. I would recommend staying there even if you don’t hunt which we did not. We had a great time and great food

I was invited to accompany Seth Box and his Wife Tammy on his trophy elk hunt at the Homestead Ranch. I had never been to Colorado, much less go on an Elk hunt before. I have hunted many first-class ranches prior to this one, but this was definitely my favorite! The Black Mesa lodge is beautiful, the staff are friendly and accommodating and the ranch itself is breathtaking! Seth has been hunting Homestead several years now and refuses to go anywhere else. His guide "Gus" was extremely patient and informative while accompanying us on our 3 day hunt. I definitely see myself hunting at Homestead for my own trophy Elk in the near future!

I just got back from the Homestead Ranch and my experience was absolutely perfect. Allow extra time when driving to the ranch to stop and take pictures of the absolutely stunning views along the way. Upon my arrival, even though it was my first visit, I was greeted like an old friend. The lodge is great- comfortable and "homey". There are many pictures of the "old" days as the ranch has been in the family for generations and the history is amazing. My room was spacious and the bed comfy and warm. The meals were outstanding- granted perhaps not healthy- but hearty, tasty and plentiful! I found the guides knowledgeable, outgoing, skilled, and nothing less than fantastic. If you have a chance to visit the ranch I would highly recommend it!
