Elk River Guest Ranch

Amazing cabin experience in the mountains of Colorado. Located in Clark so away from any city or tourism. A 30 minute drive to steamboat springs if you want to experience tourism or group activities. You can open all the windows of the cabin and fall asleep to the sound of the rapid river. We were there in June and could open the windows as A/C, then you can close windows and turn on heat if it gets cold. Wildlife surrounded us with chipmunks, hummingbirds and butterflies. There’s a large fire pit to sit around with friends. They provided a full kitchen, pot and pans and serving plates/utensils, so all you have to bring is the food. If you rent out the big house, there’s a washer and dryer in that one. Had a wonderful/comfy time there, highly recommend.

My family and I came out to visit family for a funeral on short notice from Knoxville TN. Everyone on staff at this location we're very accommodating, displaying a kind hospitality. The views on this property are so beautiful, and the rustic cabins near the river made the experience feel majestically calm. I would recommend to anyone. ♡

My family and I came to Colorado to experience snow! My son and husband have never seen it so we wanted this trip to be very special. The hosts were absolutely incredible. Kind, helpful and quick to respond with any questions. They gave lots of recommendations on things to do in the area and we did every single one and then some. Tom was awesome and showed up to help us with the stove within minutes of messaging and even brought snowshoes for us to use. We’re Floridians and everything is electric…no gas stoves where we live. The cabin is close enough to everything with an enjoyable, easy drive. About 35 minutes to downtown steamboat but it felt more like 20. Far enough out that it’s private but not too far to not enjoy things. The community cabin is adorable with lots of games, movies, books, etc to enjoy. We even found a sled! Would absolutely LOVE to come in the spring/summer. A perfect spot for a family with kids. Definitely recommend! Thank you for having us 🙂

I would have given five stars, but it's known there are mice in the cabins and rather do anything to get them out, they just let them live in the cabin & you store food in bins.. there were nice droppings on kitchen counter, window sill & on the cup shelf where the rim of glasses are placed on the shelf. Not very sanitary, so wash your dishes before using them. With that said, we were very comfortable. Great location, beautiful land and peaceful. We had a great time and despite the mice, would return, but would like to see owner address this problem. Another couple across the way from us went I to the cabin which gas from the stove was running from last guest. Their detector didn't even go off. More care needs to be taken of this property & attention to detail
