Black Mountain Colorado Dude Ranch

We found the Gem of Colorado. I have never seen a herd so well cared for and loved. We had an amazing week of riding trails, lessons, arena games, river rafting, Rodeo, sleeping up the mountain on camp night, cattle driving.. Food is amazing, service is amazing, staff are amazing. Heading back to UK exhausted, very sad to leave the ranch.

“Wow” and “Unbelievable” would be the two words I would use to describe my experience at Black Mountain Ranch. The whole experience felt like equal parts adult/family camp, horse riding workshop (I learned how to lope on this trip!), gourmet dining experience, whitewater rafting adventures, getting a taste of ranch life and operations, and being with family/old friends. This is the only dude ranch experience I’ve had but talking to others and seeing reviews of other ranches it’s the last part that really makes BMR stand out. The staff are really friendly and open with sharing about their lives and passions, which really creates an environment where it feels like we are all part of one big family. The families and individuals who have returned time and time again also carry this same mindset and we were able to established strong friendships during our week long stay that have lasted beyond BMR. Shout out to James for being such a great wrangler! It was fun hanging out with him and talking about shared passions as well as learn about the history of the ranch. Also really appreciate Ryan (part-owner), Lynn (operations manager?), and Wyatt (wrangler) for going out their way to connect with us and make me and my wife feel extra welcome! Other than the strong family vibe the views were stunning, being away from the bustle of urban life was super relaxing, the horses were wonderful, and it was really cool learning about and taking in how the ranch raises free range grass fed cattle. I can’t wait come come back!

Black Mountain Ranch in Colorado exceeded all our expectations during our week-long stay. As a family of four, we found the experience life-changing. The stunning landscapes, well-maintained facilities, and a plethora of activities kept both adults and kids engaged and thrilled throughout. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our stay was perfect. From horseback riding and fishing to cozy evenings by the campfire, every moment was memorable. We highly recommend Black Mountain Ranch for an unforgettable family vacation.

Our whole family came to Black Mountain Ranch last summer (2023) and had a wonderful time. The location is beautiful and the cabins are well kept and clean. It is a family run business and the owners and staff make you feel a part of the family from the moment you arrive. It has the perfect mix of relaxation and activity that is adjusted to your wants and needs. Everyone in our group from the 8 and 13 year old cousins to their parents and grandparents loved the experience and we created such wonderful memories to treasure! I am so thankful that we chose Black Mountain for our vacation and I highly recommend it to others looking for a fun filled adventure or a relaxing getaway.

I never had an experience like that in my life the staff and people were so kind and helpful and the food was fantastic I might add.I would recommend your Ranch to anyone who wants the experience of a lifetime.thank you so much for everything you did while I was there and I would consider going again in the near future
