Bar Star Ranch

This is my new favorite fishing lake in Colorado!! I had a phenomenal day in August, 2024 fishing Bar Star Lake. Eric, the owner, is justifiably proud of the fishing he has created. I caught at least a dozen huge rainbows, none less than 5 pounds! Be warned -- You will be spoiled and won't want to fish anywhere else!! Thank you, Eric!

Haha! You guys don't care about your animals. I was just going to leave it at one star but since you have to know why I didnt praise you.... that's why. They roam for months in residential zoned areas which IS against the law. For everyone out there, don't give these people your money so they can buy more cows to leave for dead. As for JT your ranch hand, he says they don't belong to you guys. Let me put this on blast then! I would like to see you deny this photograph. I take pictures no matter where I see them if they are where they aren't supposed to be. **Sometimes it's better to leave a 'one star' alone instead of needing more info. You asked and now the whole world can see.**

James and Vanessa of the Bar Star Ranch were gracious enough to allow the AADE (American Assoc. of Drilling Engineers) to host our 3 Gun shooting event on the ranch in mid-May of this year. Lots of beautiful scenery and incredible views of snow capped peaks all around us. Saw antelope and deer while we were there and listened to the coyotes yodel at night. Definitely brought to mind the song "Home on the Range" (where the deer and the antelope play). All of the participants in our event went on and on about the beauty of the area and what tremendous hosts we had. We are definitely planning to go back next year. I would highly recommend this outfit to anyone considering an event in the Denver area. Easily accessible from Denver, good roads to the ranch and on the ranch and genuinely good people to work with. 5 Stars in my book and I think I can safely say, rated 5 stars by all of our participants. Bar Star Ranch is an incredible place to hunt elk and deer. Bar star is a great place to enjoy and explore the outdoors had some great encounter with some bull elk and some big mule deer bucks. Thank you James and everyone else involved for this great experience. Even coming out unsuccessful on our hunt we had an experience we will never forget. What a beautiful place.

Bar Star is such an amazing ranch to fish! As a leader in Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, I had a total of 18 disabled Veterans and mentors and everyone caught double digit numbers of large Rainbow Trout! Definitely would recommend this Ranch to anyone who likes to catch large, strong fighting fish!
