Had a great time with Clayton and his crew taking my dad and I hunting. Clayton was very patient, went through safety protocols, and was thoroughly prepared. I’ve gone wild pig and wild turkey hunting with Clayton and his crew and they are excellent people to hunt with and great people in general. I highly recommend giving Bitterwater Outfitters a chance if you are interested in some professional guided hunting.

Just finished a 2 day archery hunt for Blacktail deer and it was amazing. The quality of the ranch and volume of animals exceeded my expectations in every way. Our guides Jeff and Mike were patient and super fun to hunt with. I’ll be back again. Clayton and his wife were really easy to schedule with and super responsive. We both tagged out and had a wonderful experience.

Bitterwater outfitters is great!!! Can’t wait to book next years trip, we did the Deluxe Pig Hunt. My brother, and my father in law, were first time pig hunters and the service was incredible Clayton and bill were exceptionally guides, showing us beautiful country with lots of opportunity for success, we all filled our tag! The accommodations with the deluxe hunt was money well spent, I would recommend this hunt to anyone who enjoys a comfortable bed, nice outdoor area for relaxing after a long day hunting, and amazing chef prepared food waiting for you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A great trip for the novice hunter or the experienced hunter! Thanks for everything Bitterwater Outfitters!!!

Had a great wild pig hunt with Clayton and the guys @ Bitterwater Outfitters last week. This was the first hunting trip my buddy & I had ever been on, and it couldn't have gone better. Everything was smooth from the time we contacted Clayton to set up our schedule, to the time we hit the pavement leaving the ranch. Clayton & the crew are a great bunch to work with. Arrival & check-in were smooth and easy. Mike got us sighted in on the range in a jiffy. We spent the afternoon just lounging in the Gillis house, which was superbly clean and tidy & stocked with all the kitchen utensils we needed to cook up some supper. We were out & on the pigs the next morning, right at sunrise. Clayton, Danny, and Ben were on-task with finding the pigs & getting us into a great spot to shoot from. There wasn't a single hiccup throughout our couple days there. I don't think we could have imagined up a better experience.

Just to clarify, I’ve never gone on a hunt before nor have I ever hunted. The only things I’ve ever done was help dispatch feral pigs in a trap. I never really knew if whether hunting was something I wanted to experience or do as a new hobby. I did my homework and looked up local outfitters in California and finding out about Bitterwater. I must’ve asked Bitterwater dozens of questions through email which all were answered in a thoughtful and detailed manner. They walked me through every step of what I needed to do and what I was looking for. When I arrived at the ranch I was greeted by all the fun, quick witted and knowledgeable guides. From there and after signing the paper work, I knew I was gonna have a fun time. My guide was Danny and quoting him, “we guides are here for you” and they will do whatever they can to make you feel happy. We bagged a trophy Russian boar. I loved my experience here and I am definitely going to come back here again. Hopefully soon :) -UPDATE 5/14/23- I am editing this review again because I decided to join along with another hunt with Bitterwater Outfitters. Going after a proper feral pig and boy ... I was not disappointed again! Clayton took care of me and my dad and we had such a blast being allowed to explore this beautiful California ranch and I was able to bag a true king of a trophy boar. I was so blown away by how courteous, welcoming and professional Clayton and everyone else in this company ... I'll be back again!
