We had an absolutely incredible stay at Alisal Ranch! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Horseback riding was a highlight—beautiful trails, well-cared-for horses, and knowledgeable guides who made the experience unforgettable. The archery and air rifle class was so much fun (a perfect mix of challenge and excitement), and the guacamole class was a unique and delicious treat. Chef Daniel was so great and that margaritas that Ian made paired perfectly with the guac! What really set the trip apart was the staff—personable, professional, and genuinely outstanding in every way. Their warmth and attention to detail made us feel welcome throughout our stay. This was a truly memorable trip that we’ll be talking about for years to come. We can’t wait to return!
The Alisal is an amazing place with incredible staff and memorable experiences. Along with my wife and our friends, we enjoyed such a fun weekend at the Ranch - horseback riding with Courtney, guacamole/margarita class with Daniel, laughs and drinks at the Oak Room bar with Ian, Archery with Randy and Mitch, and amazing food with Juan and the delightful dining staff. The property has it all - access to nature, second to none accommodations, beautiful horses, and the friendliest staff to round it out. We had such a wonderful time at the Ranch and can't wait for our next visit.
Went to Alisal for a 3 night girls getaway. I'm not sure we will return. It was fantastic in so many ways, but wasn't quite our style. With kids 6 and under being free - there were a lot of them. And we were a group of 45-75yr olds. Also - I guess it's only a 2 hour drive from LA, so that made the "upscale" pricing that we were expecting top notch from, not quite as impressive since LA pricing is higher. Though the massages were great, they were very overpriced. Rooms needed A LOT of sound proofing (with that many kids there, it was probably rare to have a room without kids next to you). (Maybe separating out a section of the resort for families from adults for future bookings??) The hay ride - well not sure I would call it that with one bale under a blanket in the middle of the back of the truck. Food was FANTASTIC for everything we had- inside, outside, BBQ, Adobe. Micheal, one of the guys that drove us to town and helped with bags, was so sweet and helpful! Overall it was a very nice trip, just not quite to the upscale we were looking for based on the pricing and advertising.
5/5 – Couldn’t have asked for a better getaway We had an absolutely magical stay at Alisal Ranch. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff really stood out — everything felt thoughtful and well taken care of, right down to the small details in our room. There’s so much to do on the property! We loved the horseback riding, nature walks, and had the most relaxing time at the spa. One of the highlights for us was the breakfast ride — riding out in the morning and enjoying a meal outdoors was such a unique and unforgettable experience. The food overall was amazing — every meal was delicious, high-quality, and still felt cozy and down-to-earth. Alisal is the perfect spot whether you’re coming as a couple or with family. There’s something for everyone, and it’s easy to get around and just enjoy the peace and fun of ranch life. Our only regret? Not booking one more night. We’ll definitely be back!
This was such an amazing experience. Beautiful April sun-shine and weather. We will be back!!! Sometime after we booked the stay, the concierge reached out and was able to provide out activity itinerary. The check in was easy and we were honestly pleasantly surprised that we were given real keys to out lodging. The lodging was amazing. Clean and spacious 1-bedroom suite, bunk beds for our teenagera in the living area. Cute little fire place. The entire facility was beautiful and well maintained. Other than the lake the resort was an easy walk. Highly recommend the e-bike to tour the mountain. The horse back riding was good for us beginners. The lake side activity was so much fun.
