Schulz Outfitters

As an intro, I have hunted about 30 years, all of which have included rifle and bow and have been fortunate to hunt all over the US and some other parts of the world. I wanted to try a different type of hunt and after having two past great experiences with Schulz Outfitters, I asked Kurt, the owner, for something unique. Kurt told me about their AZ Mule Deer rifle Wilderness Hunt. I was very intrigued and immediately booked. The week came for my trip and Kurt and I hiked out to our spike camp. We did lots of walking, lots of glassing, slept in small tents and ate camping style meals. This was EXACTLY what I wanted. On the third day of glassing, Kurt spotted a unique buck…the kind of unique I wanted. I ventured out after him with Kurt in my ear and after a few hours, the buck was down. Kurt did an exceptional job spotting for me and keeping me on the bucks trail, even after a miss and me having to chase further. At two miles out and behind, Kurt kept me on the buck. This hunt is physically and mentally demanding. The hikes are long, too glassy for hours, sleep in a little tent and eat food at hand. However, if you can handle those things and that is what you want, this is an absolute must do trip! Make sure your boots are well broken in and you are ready to hike and if so, you will be rewarded. Thanks again to Kurt, Stacey and all the staff. I was picked up from the airport and transported to base camp with no issues. Base camp was very comfortable with amazing food as usual. I had an epic adventure and am booked to do another archery hunt next year. I will be more than happy to discuss over the phone or answer questions for anyone interested in this hunt.

This January will be the 6th January in a row that myself and my family will be spending time with Schulz Outfitters. The Schulz family runs a first class operation. Year after year they have provided us with a great week of hunting and friendship. I am forever grateful for Nate getting two of my sons their first archery animals. Anyone that has hunted desert mule deer knows how tough they are to hunt with a bow. Nate stepped up and put them in a position to succeed. I highly recommend anyone looking for a true fair chase hunt to go with the Schulz family. Them along with their guides work their tails off to provide every client with a top level experience in the field and at camp. After a week of hunting you would expect to lose a few pounds and that won’t happen in their camp because Stacy and Cheyanne won’t allow it. Thank you so much to the Schulz crew!

As a business owner and family man, time is not a luxury I have at my disposal. This is exactly why I have to be extremely picky with my choice in WHERE and WHO I hunt with. Driving back from a desert Mule Deer Hunt that we booked with Schulz Outfitters in Buckeye. Hands down one of the best experiences I have had hunting. The deer unfortunately were not moving much, but every aspect they could’ve controlled they perfected. This is a true hunting experience with some of the best public land hunting you can get. Robert, our guide, went above and beyond the call of duty. Robert truly made the trip a huge success even without getting a deer on the ground. We have already booked for next year. The meals were absolutely incredible and have me wishing we could hire them full time as a chef.

I just returned from a fantastic time with Schulz Outfitters. We all saw big deer, had stalk/shot opportunities, and killed a solid buck. The camp set up was great. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this hunt to anyone looking for a challenging Western hunt and look forward to booking again next season!
