Elkhorn Ranch

I’ve been to many ranches over the years and Elkhorn Ranch in AZ really offers it all. Great cabins, horses, owners and staff. Terrific landscape for half day or full day rides. Animals are local deer, bunnies and tons of birds (quail, cardinals, woodpeckers, doves and more) that gather around the water and bird feeder all day at your cabin. Plenty of trails to go high and some to lope on in the valley. Two tennis courts with pickleball nets. Paddles and balls available. Great place, I’ve already booked for next year. If you need to get away from the cold in winter, and be active and love horses, this is the place for you! Also met some great peeps to come back with!

A superbly run guest ranch. The owners do this right! The entire staff works VERY hard to ensure that your stay is what you want and expect. Conscientious wranglers, knowledgeable and fun. Even the horses are superb! Highly recommended.

We have given up on all other guest ranches, and we have spent up to 6 weeks a year, every year, for 40 years straight, at Elkhorn Ranch in Arizona. Try it - you will love it!

I’ve known the ranch pretty much my whole life. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to have the middle of no where escape and to take walks and to ride and simply recharge your batteries. A day trip into Tucson is also fun and enjoyable. You’ll enjoy your time just remember your in the desert so drink extra water.

We just returned from the Elkhorn, and frankly wish we were still there! We had a wonderful time. The horseback riding was fantastic--loping across the desert and then up the trails in the mountains and looking out for over a hundred miles! Wow! The hiking was fantastic--we usually headed up in to the mountains and got a great workout. That made us hungry and the food was fantastic--fresh vegetables and healthy fare, prepared by a great cook. Best of all I got to spend time with my son, Parker! We are coming back for sure.
